Everything i loved about fathersland I found here again, amazing sound! The writing is so painterly and really worked wonders together with the pictures. On the photos there was nothing to fear exept the void, which really fitted the lying in bed and being scared of the shadows around you, knowing its probably fine for the moment. The music was so unexpected and interesting and really made the scenes come to life, I love everything about it. There is something about moving in your own pace, slowly even, through the scarriest darkest alleys, thats how this game felt to me.
UNHEIMLICHKEIT INCARNATE
I am a sucker for a good fragment, sometimes just a single corner can imply the rest of the shape. Of all the stories suitable to being disjointed in this way, this one is really perfect. I am blown away by the creeping dread and the exquisite depiction of loneliness-as-place. The imagery and textures, the light and colour, and the sound all creep under the skin. This has incredible promise. It is all threat.
I am also really in love with the stark, numbered object-oriented format of the various choices. It's quite cinematic, I can feel the hard cuts between close-ups of the evidence locker contents.
You might actually experience "sick building syndrome" through the screen if you play this, I can feel the asbestos hovering above my head.
ty (especially for feedback on the text-only version)!! the harshness feels baked into the Videotome engine, and to a degree with the lower-quality photos on Wikimedia. i fell back on some fathersland instincts with the deadline: hopefully next time the images better match jane as someone physically in the house instead of a detached documentary observer..
It worked really well already, but I can't wait to see where you go with it!
smiled at the carseatheadrest drop in the credits will toledo is always at the scene of the crime... anyway this was a lovely demo <3 the use of bright pink in the intro clashing with the overbearing harshness of the blue dream/memory was so cool to look at. also the writing was so great, the limited descriptions/flavor text for some of jane's belongings was really atmospheric and gave me a sense of who she is even with the short runtime. ty for making this will cheer when jane comes back in doomsday ^w^
ty!! whenever i do crimes i invite him and i’m glad he could make it :>
